Paul Smith, More Than a Fashion Designer

It seems like everyday there’s news about a designer creating a collaboration, and designing outside what they are originally known for, Paul Smith no exception. Mr.Smith has collaborated with Evian water, no doubt a collabo I would have never imagined! He is not the first designer to team up with Evian, last year Christian Lacroix designed the haute couture of Evian bottles, the Prêt-à-Porter and the Pinnacle bottle . In honor of Evian’s end the year celebration, this year they have decided to launch a bottle designed by Paul Smith. What stuck out most to me in the interview was not that Mr. Smith has designed a bottle, but how true he constantly remains to himself. If you remember the Inspiration from the Motherland post, you can see he uses the same bright and fun colors in his Spring RTW 2010 collection. Maybe more people will drink Evian water now, since it has been blessed by the hands of Paul Smith. If you ask me, Evian taste like the water running out of my bathroom sink, rather than the natural mineral water it claims to be.
